Information we collect
When you create an account we collect information such as your username, display name, email address and password hash. When you submit a project we store the project information you provide. We also record security, moderation and basic usage information needed to operate the service.
How we use information
We use information to provide accounts, verify email addresses, publish projects, send service messages, prevent abuse, moderate content, maintain security and improve Projectabe.
Promotional campaign tracking
If you visit Projectabe through a tagged promotional link, we may use the existing website session to attribute a visit, sign-up or project submission to that campaign. We store daily aggregate counts by source, medium, campaign and placement. This campaign reporting feature does not store IP addresses, account IDs, full URLs or individual visitor records in its campaign analytics table.
Passwords and security
Passwords are stored as one-way password hashes. We use HTTPS, protected sessions, CSRF protection, prepared database statements and other reasonable technical safeguards. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
Public information
Approved public projects, creator display names, usernames, project descriptions and related public content may be visible to visitors and search engines.
We may send account verification, password reset and important service notifications. We do not need marketing consent to send essential account messages.
Retention and deletion
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, meet security and moderation requirements, resolve disputes and comply with legal obligations. You can contact the site operator about account or data requests.
Third-party websites
Projectabe links to projects and external services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those external websites.
